Never throw away a garden gnome — it might come in useful after the apocalypse. That seems to be the message of a new, exclusive clip from Turbo Kid, a blood-drenched but heart-filled homage to ’80s sci-fi action films that will be released in select theaters Aug. 28. (The film will also be available on VOD and via iTunes from that date.)

Directed by François Simard, Anouk Whissell, and Yoann-Karl Whissell (A.K.A. the filmmaking collective RKSS), the movie stars Munro Chambers as a bicycle-riding post-apocalyptic scavenger, Laurence Leboeuf as a seemingly simple-minded woman who befriends him, and the always great Michael Ironside as a one-eyed maniac who most definitely does not.

You can see the, let us say, gnome-ic new clip, above, and the Turbo Kid trailer, below.
