Pac-Man is already such a worldwide phenomenon, but now one of the most famous video games of all time is available to play on every computer through Google Maps.
In honor of April Fools’ Day, Google has added a new icon to the Google Maps page that transforms the user’s map into a Pac-Man version of that location—and it’s completely playable right now. The playable level will take on the shape of that location, so don’t expect traditional Pac-Man layouts when jumping into the game.
Now, Google Maps can’t transform every city into a playable stage, but it does offer an “I’m Feeling Lucky” option if your chosen area isn’t compatible. Maps will then take you to a random city to run from ghosts while collecting pellets. The site does not make it clear how long the game will be playable, so try a few cities out while you can.
Google even heralded the game’s arrival with a simple but obvious tweet.
This isn’t the first time Google has changed its functionality for a playable Pac-Man plug-in, as it made a Pac-Man themed playable doodle for the game’s 30th anniversary.
