We gave it a B

Take the sinewy, almost sequencer-like guitar riff from the most popular New Wave song of the mid-’80s (the Smiths’ ”How Soon Is Now?”), add some dance beats backed by cooing female vocals, and you’ve got the biggest club hit of the moment, ”Hippychick.” Other, more generic dance cuts on Soho’s Goddess — ”Love Generation” and ”Freaky” — may also meet with some success. But though this London-based trio (fronted by twin-sister vocalists) tries to fill in the gaps with live guitar and snatches of reggae, there simply aren’t enough solid ideas to warrant an 11-song album. Remember ’em now because they’ll be the answer to a trivia question tomorrow. B
