We gave it a B+

In 1968, British pop thrush Dusty Springfield traveled to Tennessee to try her hand at soul music. Her producers, however, combined pop songwriting (by the likes of Carole King) with elegant horn-and-string arrangements. From the infectious hit ”Son of a Preacher Man” to the precious ”Windmills of Your Mind,” her lighter-than-air voice carries Dusty in Memphis aloft. B+
