MODEL T. REX

Dinosaurs ruled the entertainment world this weekend, in one way or another. Overnight tape rentals may have suffered, with every movie buff in the country on a multiplex line for Jurassic Park. But cassette sales benefited from dino- mania. Reluctant to allow children to see the controversially violent thriller-only 2 percent of its opening-weekend audiences were under the age of 8-parents stocked up on tapes of history’s tamest tyrannosaurus. Barney’s Best Manners shot up 35 spots to No. 4, while Barney in Concert returned to the chart at No. 9. Meanwhile, those not wrapped up with Spielberg’s raptors spurred the more genteel Howards End into the top 10. Last Weeks on week RENTALS Chart
