YOU BET 'JURASSIC'

Crushing all comers, Jurassic Park has become the first film to make $50 million in its first three days-an average of $11,611 per weekend minute-with lots more to come, it seems. The film earned a CinemaScore grade of A+ from viewers under 25, whose repeat business is essential for true blockbusterhood. Nearly extinct, by contrast, was Life With Mikey, which in its two weeks has made only $6.9 million, at least $4 million less than any other film in the box office top 10. Columbia hopes that the upcoming Last Action Hero will end the dinosaurs’ dominion. But Schwarzenegger will face competition from another quarter when the Tina Turner biopic, What’s Love Got to Do With It, which averaged even more per screen-$21,081-than the Jurassic juggernaut, goes beyond this week’s 58 screens.
