Clearly, Ford doesn’t have friends like Isabel Allende, Maya Angelou, Spalding Gray, and Reynolds Price, four of the 26 writers who begin talking about their dreams and ultimately turn to the nature of their craft. Naomi Epel deftly allows these voices to lead us along what is inherently a private passage, relating mostly delicious details of inspiration. A-
