Smokin' in the Boys Room: The Best Of Brownsville Station

We gave it a B+
On 1974’s ”School Punks,” these Detroit brats became the first rock group ever to call themselves punks. Brownsville’s blues plodded like any old bell-bottomed bar band, but they specialized in stomping juvenile-delinquent party anthems, just as they do on Smokin’ in the Boys Room: The Best of the Brownsville Station. ”The Martian Boogie” is seven minutes of prime ridiculousness, and ”Smokin’ in the Boys Room” belongs in the Detention Hall of Fame.
