Thank you so much for your feature on the production of Schindler’s List, the docudrama masterpiece (#206, Jan. 21). This account of the Holocaust was well worth the long wait, as your article points out, and was the icing on top of a very big, well-decorated, rich cake for Steven Spielberg. He deserves every accolade that he has received in the past and will earn in the future.
Liam Neeson, a most extraordinary and talented man, has come a long way since High Spirits, and Schindler’s List will probably rank as one of the greatest films of all time. I sincerely hope Tim Appelo’s article ”Oskar Winner” is prophetic. I’ll be watching the Academy Awards to see if he wins.
ALL ‘SOUP’ ED UP
I believe that EW is the first magazine to convey Talk Soup‘s Greg Kinnear’s new success. As a loyal fan of Talk Soup, I love his amusing comments and biting sarcasm. And I’m pleased to know that a new audience will have the chance to discover what E! TV viewers have known for years — that Kinnear is one of today’s funniest and hottest stars. I can’t wait to see how he personalizes Later. This show will be a great opportunity for him to reveal a few more of his thousand faces. I wish him nothing but good luck and great success!
How many o’s are in soooooo? As in: ”Greg Kinnear is soooooo cool” and ”Thank you for the article on his talk-show future; it was soooooo great!”

I protest your lumping of ”Weird Al” Yankovic in the category of ”one-hit” novelty singers in your book review of The Wacky Top 40. Yankovic has recorded 11 albums, has been nominated for several Grammys, and has won two of them. And there’s some darn fine singing (as well as some terrific music from his excellent band) on his latest album, Alapalooza.
Your article on The X-Files was great! When I first tuned in to this off-beat show when it premiered, I thought it was too good to be true. I just hope Fox isn’t as quick with the ax as the other networks. Thank you for giving it the recognition it deserves.

It’s good to see that The X-Files, one of my favorite shows, is getting the support it needs. Remember what happened to Star Trek? NBC is still hurting over that one. Thanks again!
X-traordinary! That’s my take on the unfortunately low-rated series The X- Files. However, thanks to your mention of the show, The X-Files might have the chance to be lifted out of obscurity and enjoyed by all.
