Shimmer

Genre: Blues; Status: In Season

In the past, these New York creep-rockers have teetered between inspired noise and boring chaos, but on their major-label debut, Shimmer, they manage to impose enough structure on their distorted blues stylings to make it palatable, and then some. Particularly tasty: the slide- guitar-hooked ”Gulf Coast Score” and the downright poppy ”Didn’t I Know You Once?”
