Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings

Genre: Horror; Starring: Ami Dolenz, Andrew Robinson, Soleil Moon Frye, Hill Harper; Director: Jeff Burr; MPAA Rating: R

The original Pumpkinhead was an unusually subtle film that became a video hit because of its eerie atmospherics, so Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings is already in trouble the moment it tries to get by on a Roger Clinton cameo that wouldn’t matter to even the nerdiest horror fan. And despite a nicely weird opening sequence and an ending that attempts religious imagery, there’s really not much going on in Pumpkinhead II except for a lamely revived monster, a bunch of stupid teenagers, and a plodding collection of vengeance-fueled murders. Anyone who still harbors hatred for Punky Brewster, however, will surely want to catch the Soleil Moon Frye-on-a-stick scene. C
