There’s the brassy Memphis soul stew of ”If I Only Knew,” produced by Trevor Horn, a techno-rave cover of Yaz’s ”Situation,” and the impassioned ballad ”I Wanna Get Back With You,” with Tori Amos providing choral flourishes. Sure, some of the album is cheesier than a fondue pot, but on the material suited to Jones’ peremptory delivery, he’s huffing and puffing better than ever. A-
