Caruso Be It
Thank you for the enlightening article on David Caruso. A devout fan of NYPD Blue, I decided when he left that he was an egomaniac. Your article made me think that some of my impressions were wrong. Bruce Fretts’ interview showed all sides of Caruso. I think it’s time we forgive him and let him be what he is: human.
Perhaps you could put David Caruso and Courtney Love on the same cover; then you could put all the info possible about these two worthless, talentless individuals in one issue, mail it out, then stop talking about them!
Kaelin ‘em Softly
I wish to praise you for your recent Kato issue. The first entry had me peeved. The second had me perplexed. The third had me rolling. Keep up the good work.
Your visits with Kato Kaelin in the April 28 issue are some of the funniest things I’ve seen. But I wonder if your readers are going to get the joke.
Kato, Kato, Kato…I’m glad my favorite magazine has such a good sense of humor. But please don’t do it again…

Go figure! Number of times EW darling Kato Kaelin appeared: 7. Most number of pages without seeing his face: 33. Number of times he admits to ”thinking”: 3. Number of issues I’ll buy if you continue to feature him: 0.
Kato Kaelin is mentioned no fewer than seven times in #272. Why? I cut out all the sections with him and used them on the bottom of my kitty-litter box. Now my cat is afraid to go to the bathroom.
What is wrong with you people? Why on earth would you put seven photos of Kato Kaelin’s simpering, smirking mug in one issue? Enough! The man has the brain of a cauliflower. Let’s hope you got it out of your system.

Editor’s Note: Our ironic statement on Kato-mania (and yes, those really were his words) has so far drawn nearly 300 responses. For those who didn’t get it: Hey, guys. Lighten up already!
Jayhawks Fly High
I was surprised and delighted to see an article on my favorite band, the Jayhawks. In an era of talentless, made-for-video bands, the sweet harmonies and maverick commitment of the Jayhawks is a true alternative.
