Kicking off with the creamy cornball harmonies of the Statler Brothers’ ”In the Beginning,” this disc is as glib, portentous, and effectively cynical as the hit Pitt creepathon itself. It’s as schizophrenic as a serial killer, too, veering from Marvin Gaye to J.S. Bach to Billie Holiday as if all were mere fodder for depraved fantasies. The only sin is Howard Shore’s ”Suite From Seven,” 15 minutes of clanging, anonymous film music. B
