have medals replaced diamonds as Sharon Stone’s best friend? Since receiving the title of ”Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” from the French minister of culture on Oct. 24, Stone has worn the green-and-white ribbon that accompanies the citation with any old ensemble. The actress fastened it to her suit while attending the recent Fire & Ice Ball in Beverly Hills and her jacket at a preview of Terrence McNally’s Master Class on Broadway, as well as during the Extra television interview that followed her Hollywood Walk of Fame star-induction ceremony.
”Sharon wears her medal with tremendous pride,” says Stone’s publicist, Cindi Berger. ”It’s quite an honor for her.” And it puts her in good company, too. Jodie Foster, Al Pacino, and John Malkovich were also pinned with the Chevalier this year, but they aren’t nearly as good at accessorizing.
