Bogosian, created by the bleakly comic monologuist-playwright Eric Bogosian, isn’t much to look at — what do you expect from a guy who works without props? — and fans may cringe at its commercial aspects (besides excerpts from performance pieces like ”Talk Radio”, there are books and videos for sale and instructions for licensing his works). Perhaps the most provocative item is Bogosian’s rationale for not posting some of his raunchier material (”I have no interest in entertaining, inflaming, or offending people who are distinctly outside my ‘tribe.’ [The Internet] is a public place and I have a responsibility in this forum.”) Sadly, that spectre of self-censorship infests the entire site, which emphasizes form over content.
