Carmen Electra replaces MTV's Jenny McCarthy

Carmen Electra replaces MTV's Jenny McCarthy -- The new host says she won't be imitating her predecessor

The (Jenny) McCarthy era is over, and soon the fickle, hormonally charged fans of the sultry Singled Out star will be moaning for Electra — Carmen Electra, 24, who will replace McCarthy when her first episodes debut on MTV in February. ”There’s only one Jenny McCarthy, so I’m not going to try to be the same type of person,” says Electra, who still managed to be outfitted like McCarthy at a Nov. 2 farewell to Jenny in L.A. ”I do have a lot of great clothes,” says Electra, who, like McCarthy, is a former Playboy model. ”But the only problem is that my pants don’t really fit me because I lost five pounds from running around the set all the time.” McCarthy, who’s moving on to a new MTV talk show, even gave her heir apparent a bit of advice: ”Jenny just told me to be myself and have a good time.” From the looks of it, that shouldn’t be a problem.
