Harry Connick Jr. shows unusual restraint on this original set, cooling his voice to a cocktail croon and downplaying his piano for sinewy bass, muted trumpet, and cascading strings. The smoky arrangements in To See You shimmer like a freshly poured cosmopolitan, and the romantic sentiment never comes off as corny or forced. When he cuts loose on the finger-flexing ”Heart Beyond Repair,” you’re reminded just how talented the part-time thespian is. B+
