”Size does matter” — at least according to the cheeky teasers for Memorial Day’s $100 million would-be blockbuster, Godzilla. Hatched by Independence Day creators Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, Godzilla is being closely guarded by Sony, which isn’t releasing any head-to-tail photos of the title character before the film opens. This much we know: The schlockily dubbed, Tokyo reptilian rampages of yore are being updated for a very ’90s, high-tech, special F/X blitzkrieg of New York City. And let’s be honest, who can resist the prospect of seeing cranky New Yorkers getting stomped by a 20-story lizard?
