After an auspicious start with the pile-driving, hard-core ”Supermanic Soul,” Ministry’s latest, Dark Side of the Spoon, doesn’t get that fast or heavy again. ”Kaif” is a bafflingly dirgelike Goth number, while ”Step” keeps threatening to take off into the manic stratosphere but never does; it basically boils down to an old-fashioned boogie bump ‘n’ grind closer to George Thorogood than to Sepultura. Time may have finally caught up with these thrash-industrial veterans. C+
