Everyone’s favorite anti-rapper works out his premillennial tension on ”Juxtapose,” a collaborative effort à la 1996’s ”Nearly God” and ”Tricky Presents Grassroots.” Guest producers (DMX pal Dame Grease, Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs) refocus Tricky’s trademark murk: Folk and heavy metal guitars nuzzle up-front vocals, with breakneck U.K. rapper Street Dog’s foremost among them. Subjects range from hip-hop ”realness” (illusory) to ménages à trois (recommended). Slighter than usual, but by current rap standards, refreshing enough.
