We gave it a B+

No role was showy or ferocious enough for Klaus Kinski, and Werner Herzog’s fascinating love-hate documentary gets at the essence of one of cinema’s indelible crackpots. There are priceless clips of Kinski throwing tantrums on the set of Aguirre, The Wrath of God, yet when we see scenes from the movie itself, it’s hard not to be moved by the oddball purity of what Kinski and Herzog, high on their lust for extremes, achieved.
