SPLITS Blues rocker Bonnie Raitt, 50, and actor Michael O’Keefe, 44, announced Nov. 9 that they have agreed to divorce. They gave no reason for ending the eight-year marriage. DEALS Less than two months after reportedly threatening to leave Jive Records because rivals ‘N Sync joined the label, the Backstreet Boys have ”resolved their differences” with the company, according to a Nov. 15 statement from the label. The band has reportedly been guaranteed a stratospheric $60 million for its next five albums.

SENTENCED Glam rocker Gary Glitter, 55, to four months in jail after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography, Nov. 12, in Bristol, England. Glitter—whose real name is Paul Gadd—had been arrested after the staff of a computer-repair shop found obscene materials on his laptop.

RECOVERING Actress Nicole Kidman, 32, from a broken rib sustained during rehearsals for her film Moulin Rouge in Sydney, Australia. According to the movie’s studio, Twentieth Century Fox, Kidman injured herself in mid-October ”during strenuous dance rehearsals.” Production starts again Nov. 25. She is expected to make a full recovery…. Singer-actress Brandy, 20, from dehydration. A rep for her TV show, Moesha, says that the star was admitted to a Southern California hospital on Nov. 11, checked out on Nov. 13, and is now resting at home. No more details were released.

DEATHS South Park’s Mary Kay Bergman, of undisclosed causes, Nov. 11, in L.A. Bergman voiced most of the female characters on the Comedy Central hit…. On Nov. 16, the body of former power agent Jay Moloney, 35, was found in his L.A. home, the victim of suicide by hanging. Moloney was a longtime force at Creative Artists Agency, where he was a protégé of Mike Ovitz’s and repped such stars as Steven Spielberg and Leonardo DiCaprio. Moloney left the agency in 1996 following a series of drug-related problems…. Singer Donald Mills, 84, of complications from pneumonia, Nov. 13, in L.A. Mills was the last surviving member of the eloquently harmonic Mills Brothers, one of the first groups to break pop’s color barrier. They were also among music’s most prolific artists, cutting over 2,000 records. Their hits include ”Tiger Rag” and ”Paper Doll.”
