Births Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson (The Remains of the Day), 40, and her boyfriend, actor Greg Wise (Sense and Sensibility), 34, welcomed an as-yet-unnamed baby girl Dec. 4, in a London hospital. It is the first child for both. ”At the moment we are calling her Jane.com,” Wise joked in a statement.

Married Director Milos Forman (Man on the Moon), 67, married former production assistant Martina Zborilova, 33, Nov. 27, in Connecticut. It’s Forman’s second marriage, Zborilova’s first. The couple met on the set of Forman’s 1996 film The People vs. Larry Flynt and have 18-month-old twin sons, James and Andrew—named for Moon star Jim Carrey and Moon subject Andy Kaufman.

Splits Citing irreconcilable differences, Charmed vixen Alyssa Milano, 26, filed for divorce from her husband of 11 months, musician Cinjun Tate, 26, Dec. 1, in L.A. It was the first marriage for both. Neither had any comment.

Exited Moesha cocreator Vida Spears, from the 3-year-old UPN sitcom. According to published reports, Spears left over creative differences with actress Brandy, 20, and her mother/manager Sonja Norwood, 47. Countered UPN spokesperson Paul McGuire, ”UPN, not Brandy and her mom, was the driving force behind this parting of the ways.” McGuire said Spears objected to plans to make the series grittier and more dramatic. Spears declined to comment.

Arrested Jason Priestley, 30, Dec. 3, in Hollywood, on suspicion of drunk driving, just days after announcing his separation from his wife of nine months, Ashlee Peterson. According to L.A. police, the erstwhile star of Beverly Hills, 90210 crashed his 1999 Porsche into a pole and a parked car, injuring his passenger, Chad Cook, 27, who sustained a broken arm. Priestley, who was unhurt, displayed ”objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication,” police said in a statement. Priestley reportedly told investigators he swerved to avoid a deer. His publicist had no comment. The actor was released after posting $50,000 bail; prosecutors are awaiting the results of a blood test…. Rapper Jay-Z (a.k.a. Shawn Carter), 30, was charged on Dec. 2 in New York with allegedly stabbing record executive Lance Rivera, 33, during a party at Manhattan’s Kit Kat Club. According to police Rivera suffered wounds to his stomach and shoulder and was briefly hospitalized. Carter, who turned himself in, was charged with assault and released on $50,000 bail. The rapper’s lawyer denies Carter was involved in the stabbing, adding, ”We will prevail.” Police said the motive for the alleged stabbing was still under investigation.

Lawsuits On Dec. 1 ,a jury in Los Angeles rejected an $881,000 palimony claim by Barbara Neugass, 57, who argued that her ex-boyfriend, actor Jack Klugman (The Odd Couple), 77, had promised her a lifetime of financial support. Klugman, whose 18-year relationship with Neugass ended in 1992, testified during the proceedings that he loved his dog more than Neugass. Neugass’ lawyer, William Glucksman, said his client is considering an appeal. ”I don’t think we were able to overcome Mr. Klugman’s celebrity status,” he said.
