The funky divas of En Vogue offer an underwhelming initiation to their first album in three years with the single ”Riddle.” The delicate melodic phrase atop a bumptious, blatting bass is fetching enough. But it’s repeated over and over without contrast or advancement. If only the music were as dense as the singer, who can’t get it through her head that her boyfriend’s cheating on her, despite the hair weave on his sleeve and the love note in his pocket. C+
