Action star Jet Li (Romeo Must Die), 37, and wife Nina, 38, welcomed 6-pound 13-ounce Jane on April 19. He has two other daughters…. Star Trek’s Scotty, James Doohan, 80, and wife Wende, 43, beamed up 7-pound 13-ounce Sarah in Kirkland, Wash., on April 11. They have two grown sons.

EXPECTING Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx, 41, and actress wife, Donna D’Errico (Baywatch), 41, say their first child is due in December. They have four kids from earlier marriages…. Oscar winner Marlee Matlin (Children of a Lesser God), 33, and cop hubby Kevin Grandalski, 33, are expecting a child in August. The couple has a daughter, Sarah Rose, 4.

ENGAGED Actress Ashley Judd, 32, found that her heart is with Scottish race-car driver Dario Franchitti, 26. No wedding date has been set.

RUNNING Feisty Diff’rent Strokes star and Web scribe Gary Coleman, 32, announced plans to unseat Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.). His publicist says he’ll run independently on the HECK (Homelessness, Education, Crime, and Killers) platform.

SPLITS After 12 years of marriage, chanteuse Annie Lennox, 45, is separating from her husband, Spice World producer Uri Fruchtman, 45. She calls the split ”entirely amicable.”…An item since New Year’s Eve 1997, Matt Damon, 29, and Winona Ryder, 28, have called it quits. His publicist had no reason for the breakup but denied reports he’s dating his All the Pretty Horses costar Penelope Cruz.

FIGHTS In the first major showbiz strike in 12 years, the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists halted all work on commercials May 1. The two unions’ 135,000 members seek residuals for every time a cable ad runs; they’re now paid a flat fee. Stars William Baldwin, Richard Dreyfuss, and Jerry Orbach joined May 1 union rallies. Advertisers say they can still shoot ads with nonunion actors.

RECOVERING Singer Liza Minnelli, 54, was hospitalized April 27 in New York City for hip problems, forcing her to cancel 14 concerts…. Millionaire’s Regis Philbin, 65, checked into a Manhattan hospital April 24 for angioplasty on his right artery. The host, who had the same procedure on his left artery in ‘93, was back on the air April 27.

DEPARTURES After months of speculation, music bigwig Clive Davis, 67, confirmed May 2 he’s leaving Arista Records, the label he ran for 25 years. A champion of artists like Patti Smith, Barry Manilow, and Whitney Houston, Davis spearheaded Santana’s comeback. Davis is expected to launch a new label in September. His replacement at Arista: Antonio ”L.A.” Reid, 43, cofounder of LaFace Records, home to Toni Braxton and TLC…. After nine years and $250 million in grosses, Broadway staple Miss Saigon will go dark on Dec. 31, 2000.
