Who among us is craving still more Doors-related make-work? Stoned Immaculate features Jim Morrison admirers young (Creed, Smash Mouth), old (Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker), and so-old-they’re-dead (William Burroughs) in collaborations with the Lizard King’s three surviving bandmates. The Doors Concerto, arranged by the man who blessed us with those symphonic Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin records, showcases violinist Nigel Kennedy, the classical world’s very own rock-star exhibitionist. Both records close with covers of ”The End.” If only.
