LINKIN LOGS BIG SALES

Linkin Park had the bestselling album of 2001, according to SoundScan, without ever actually getting past No. 2 in any given week. And if Creed have their way, that won’t change. The earnest power trio continues to weather all challenges, holding on to the No. 1 spot for the seventh successive week, with no end in sight to their reign-y season. No major new releases dotted the landscape in these dog days of January, so the top 15 remained fairly static, with most hot sellers simply shifting a position or two. The Grammy nominations had little effect in these climes, though Alicia Keys’ three-spot boost may be due to her highly touted six nods.
