The latest purveyor of pseudo-classical pop, young baritone Groban has merely a conventionally pleasant voice and mediocre Italian diction, but he probably can’t be blamed for the level of kitsch his producers inflict on him. If you’re truly starved for romance, you may be forgiven for imagining this impersonation of virility and emotion is the real thing. The last straw: a cloying duet with pesky teen soprano Charlotte Church.
