In Barry’s riotous satirical rant against global capitalism, the Government investigates crimes only if they can bill the victims for it, workers take their employers’ names as their own, and most of the world has become a U.S. territory. When the diabolical John Nike contracts the shooting of 10 teenagers in order to build street cred for a new sneaker, he sets off a bloody battle between the world’s two largest corporate conglomerates. John and his nemesis, Agent Jennifer Government, are a bit over-the-top, but their excesses are also what make Barry’s world of unregulated corporate greed and unrelenting consumerism so frightening and funny. Nothing is sacred when the battle for market share is carried out with guns and tanks.
