Love don’t cost a thing, but baggage can be expensive. According to the Associated Press, luxury goods company LVMH has signed Jennifer Lopez to appear in magazine and billboard ads for Louis Vuitton luggage. Designer Marc Jacobs said the firm sought a ”contemporary icon” as an endorser, a ”sophisticated, influential, and sexy woman” as the image for its fall-winter campaign. According to the New York Post, J. Lo was in Paris earlier this week shooting the ads.
It’s not clear how Jenny’s old friends from the block feel about her signing on with a French luxury goods maker, or how many of them could afford the products. Still, better to get paid for standing next to the bags than having to carry them, as she did when she played a hotel worker in last year’s ”Maid in Manhattan.”
