The upcoming seventh edition of ”Survivor” this fall will take place on an island off the coast of Panama, but it’s the eighth season, in early 2004, that should have ”Survivor” fans drooling. It’ll be the long-promised all-star competition, pitting alumni from past seasons against each other. CBS didn’t name the locale or the airdate, but expected competitors to include previous winners Richard Hatch, Tina Wesson, and Ethan Zohn, as well as such memorable players as Susan Hawk, Rudy Boesch, and Jerri Manthey.
CBS announced the all-star game during its presentation to advertisers Wednesday as part of the networks’ ”upfront” week announcements in New York. The star-studded presentation at Carnegie Hall featured walk-ons by Hatch, Wesson, Zohn, Hawk, and Boesch, as well as appearances by the final six from the recently concluded ”Survivor: The Amazon.” Even Destiny’s Child showed up to sing their hit ”Survivor.” Or at least two-thirds of the group did; Beyoncé Knowles was absent. Did they vote her off the island?
