The tales of thug life spun at a 50 Cent/Jay-Z concert in Toronto on Tuesday proved all too prophetic for one concertgoer, who was shot to death as he left the Molson Amphitheatre. According to the Toronto Star, police say 24-year-old Msemaji Granger was shot twice while walking with friends after the show, around 10:20 p.m. The two suspected assailants then vanished into the crowd. ”It would appear from the evidence at the scene that this person was targeted,” homicide Detective Sergeant Cory Bockus said. ”The shots were fired at close range at this victim.”

Passersby initially thought the gunshot sounds were just Canada Day fireworks, police said. Bockus said she hoped Granger’s friends would come forward, in case they could help identify the shooters. Meanwhile, the rappers’ ”Rock the Mic” tour returns to the U.S on Thursday for a show in Camden, N.J.
