”Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat” is one of the 10 fall movies we can’t wait to see

WHY WE CAN’T WAIT Another live-action Dr. Seuss tale from producer Brian Grazer (”How the Grinch Stole Christmas”) may not sound like catnip to anyone over age 9, but of all the comic actors who might keep this film from being a bad hairball day, Mike Myers would be the pick of the litterbox.

SOURCE MATERIAL The classic 1957 Dr. Seuss book, which is only about 220 words long

PLOT POINTS Human-size feline enlivens dull day for siblings Sally (”Uptown Girls”’ Dakota Fanning) and Conrad (”Disney’s The Kid”’s Spencer Breslin) by helping them trash the house, which they must then clean up before Mom (Kelly Preston) gets home. It’s sorta like ”Risky Business,” only it takes the ”cathouse” concept literally.

BURNING QUESTION Could Brian Grazer please stay away from ”Green Eggs and Ham”?

COME FOR Myers in a furry catsuit that gives new meaning to the word ”shagadelic”

STAY FOR Myers the changeling, who wears even more hats here than he does in his multiple ”Austin Powers” roles
