Sure, VH1 is hosting ”A Kid Rock Christmas” on Dec. 14, but sister channel MTV will not be outdone. It’s airing ”The Osbourne Family Christmas Special” on Dec. 11, and the network promises in a statement that the show ”will take holiday specials to a bizarre level.”

Among the stars joining the Osbournes at their Beverly Hills mansion for cookies and carols will be Britney Spears, Mike Myers, Adam Corolla, Eddie Griffin, Brendan Fraser, Tracy Morgan, newlyweds Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra, ”Newlyweds”’ Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, ‘N Sync’s JC Chasez, OutKast’s Big Boi, Anthony Anderson, Eva Mendes, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. (Like there aren’t already too many incontinent pooches running around that house.)

Actually, says MTV exec Lois Curren in the same statement, ”The Osbournes are surprisingly traditionalist when it comes to the holidays.” Among the highlights on the show: a ”show-stopping” duet of ”Winter Wonderland” performed by Ozzy Osbourne and Simpson; Carolla cooking up cranberry sauce with Jack Osbourne; Navarro and Electra baking cookies; Kelly Osbourne’s ”amazing version” of ”Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”; Morgan dressed up as Santa Claus; a reading of ”’Twas the Night Before Christmas” by Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Morgan, Griffin, Chasez, Anderson, Big Boi, Mendes, and Electra; and a final caroling sing-along with all the guests. Top that, Kid Rock.
