There’s a certain formulaic charm to this classic TV comedy: Each episode is littered with the same hokey catchphrases and unrelenting fat jokes (”You could record for Mo-TON records!”), but always ends with lots of hugs and lessons learned. Three best friends growing up in ’70s Los Angeles — Raj the responsible one, Rerun the chubby clown, and Dwayne the shy sidekick — get into all the usual sitcom trouble, like when the trio sets up Shirley (Shirley Hemphill) the waitress with two dates on one night and, naturally, high jinks ensue. But even these scrappy boys are upstaged by Danielle Spencer as Dee, Raj’s extortionist little sister. Easily one of the best bratty siblings in TV history, she’s a sharp-tongued tattletale who steals every scene she’s in. EXTRAS Hey HEY hey! There aren’t any!
