Three years ago, grunge revivalists Tantric struck gold with the smoldering hit ”Breakdown.” On their second album, they continue to display an impressive, Alice in Chains-influenced knack for harmony and sonic dynamics. They also have a blast running Fleetwood Mac’s ”The Chain” through a distortion box. Still, no amount of ear candy could overcome the rote soul-searching and flaccid grooves that plague cuts like the first single, ”Hey Now.”
