The best TV shows based on films, and vice versa

What do you think is the best big-screen adaptation of a TV series and vice versa? — Terry Shimmins

Harrison Ford did David Janssen’s classic TV suspenser ”The Fugitive” proud in 1993; I also liked Brian De Palma’s supersize ”The Untouchables” in ’87. As for movie-to-TV morphs, it’s no contest: The WB’s ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer” gloriously transcended the ’92 cinema schlock starring Kristy Swanson; Joss Whedon got to redeem his slaughtered film script via TV.
