Now that ”Sex in the City” is finished, Sarah Jessica Parker will be trading in Carrie Bradshaw’s mini-dresses and Manolo Blahnik stilettos for slim-fit jeans and flip-flops. She’ll be wearing the casual clothes as part of her new endorsement contract with The Gap, the company announced Wednesday in a press release. She’ll be the center of a print and TV ad campaign that will run from August through the end of the year, marking the first time that the company has used any celebrity endorser for more than a single ad.
”Gap has always been about individual style, and no one represents this philosophy better than Sarah Jessica Parker,” said Gary Muto, president of Gap, in the statement. ”She looks as amazing in jeans as she does in couture. And no matter what she?s wearing, she always adds her own style and flair.”
The retailer declined to describe the ads or the ”variety of other projects” involved in the campaign, except to say that some would feature the 39-year-old actress alone and others would include other artists. In any case, now that Kim Cattrall’s pullout means that there won’t be a ”Sex and the City” movie, Parker should have plenty of time freed up to model T-shirts and khakis.
