After a 12-year hiatus, Wilson Phillips return with a CD covering their parent’s songs, along with those of other West Coast greats like Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. But if their taste in music has improved, the trio’s singing style is an uninspiring as ever — ranging from high and whiny to dull sing-speak. Brian Wilson is a welcome guest on ”In My Room,” but it would take more than a famous father to make California dreamy.
