Missed ”Sex and the City”? Here’s how to catch up

WHY YOU MISSED IT Not everyone has the bank for premium cable channels like HBO.

WHAT YOU MISSED Looking back at all six seasons — which will be re-run in consecutive order starting June 22 — the relationship between the four female stars (Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, and Kristin Davis) gets most of the attention. But it’s the on-again, off-again relationship between sex columnist Carrie (Parker) and callous businessman Mr. Big (Chris Noth, pictured with Parker) that keeps the show hot.

WHO TO WATCH FOR Sex kitten Samantha (Cattrall), as she overcomes crass stereotypes to reveal the maneater’s vulnerable side.

WE TOLD YOU SO ”If the show has always been a fantasy-nightmare about the lives of unattached women in Manhattan, it has also evolved into one of television’s more vivid and believable portrayals not of romance, but of friendship.” — EW critic Ken Tucker, Jan. 16, 2004

WHY WATCH NOW Though the raunchier parts have been censored, TBS says the edits are minor: a little digital blurring and fewer curse words.
