Whoopi Goldberg won’t be whooping it up for Slim-Fast anymore. After the comedian blasted President Bush in a risqué monologue during a Radio City Music Hall fundraiser for John Kerry, Slim-Fast announced that she will no longer be a spokesperson for the diet-drink company. ”We are disappointed by the manner in which Ms. Goldberg chose to express herself and sincerely regret that some of her recent remarks offended some of our customers,” Slim-Fast general manager Terry Olson said in a press release.

Goldberg told Bloomsberg Newswire that she stood by her raunchy routine. ”While I can appreciate what the Slim-Fast people need to do in order to protect their business, I must also do what I need to do as an artist, as a writer, and as an American, not to mention as a comic,” she told the news service. ”I’ve done material on every President in the past 20 years, from Reagan to Carter, from Clinton to Bush. It seems now that people from the other side are using this to further their own agenda.” On the bright side, Slim-Fast’s Olson did compliment Goldberg on her ”commitment to weight loss.”
