Who says Incubus aren’t dangerous, cutting-edge rockers? Just ask the airport security guards at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, who arrested frontman Brandon Boyd on Wednesday as he tried to carry a bag containing a switchblade knife onto a flight to North Carolina. ”My bad,” said the rocker in a statement. ”I totally forgot it was at the bottom of my bag, and when the security person pulled it out, I thought, ‘Oh, no.”’

The 28-year-old was charged with criminal possession of a weapon but was allowed to take a later flight to Raleigh, where the band was about to perform, the Associated Press reports. There, he said, the police gave him friendlier treatment, escorting him to the concert at the RVC Center after he arrived in the city just 20 minutes before showtime. ”That was the most rock star of an entrance I’ve ever made,” Boyd said. ”The police cars pulled up to the venue and I literally walked right onstage.” Gee, maybe he should get arrested more often.
