We gave it a B+

No political posturing here, thank goodness — just a relaxed return from Linda Ronstadt, who ably dives back into the Great American Songbook for her 24th studio album Hummin’ to Myself, proving her undisputed vocal mettle on tracks like ”Tell Him I Said Hello” and ”Never Will I Marry.” A drowsy version of ”Miss Otis Regrets” can’t top Bette Midler’s 1989 rendition, but the missteps are few and the sultry sound is just right for listeners in, y’know, that kind of mood.
