Did Snoop Dogg attack a woman at a 2003 performance? Or is the woman’s claim of an attack an extortion attempt against the rapper? It’s the latter, says a lawsuit Snoop filed on Dec. 10 in Los Angeles Superior Court, the Associated Press reports.

The suit alleges that the woman demanded $5 million in hush money from Snoop (real name: Calvin Broadus) to keep from selling her story to book publishers and The National Enquirer. The suit does not specify details of the alleged assault, and it names the woman only as ”Jane Doe,” to protect her privacy. Talking to AP, the rapper’s publicist declined to identify the defendant or her attorneys. The suit denies any wrongdoing by Snoop and seeks punitive damages and a halt on future threats.
