'Sopranos' will sing a little longer

It’s official: There will be no seventh season of The Sopranos. But the upcoming sixth and final season, comprised of 12 episodes and set to debut in March 2006, is getting an extra eight episodes tacked on, and they’ll air in January 2007. (Wait a minute…that sure sounds like a seventh season to me, but since series creator David Chase is almost doubling his output, let’s not quibble, shall we?)

Of course, it’s been so long since I’ve spent time with Tony, Carmela & Co. – their last new episode aired in June 2004 – that I can barely remember where we left off. And now that I’m in the habit of spending my Sunday nights with Bree, Susan, Gabrielle, Lynette, and Edie, I may have to relegate my favorite Mob family to TiVo status.

Which series will you be watching live next March: Desperate Housewives or The Sopranos? And what would you like to see happen in The Sopranos’ last 20 episodes? All must be revealed, people!
