Genre: Folk; Lead Performer: Dion; Producer (group): Dimensional Music Recordings; Status: In Season

Taking a possible cue from the White Stripes, if not the Rick Rubin?Johnny Cash discs, Dion tears it down to guitars and drums for Bronx in Blue, an album heavy on blues and country covers. With a voice that’s retained much of the grainy warmth of his youth (and playing a surprisingly sharp six-string), DiMucci pumps new life into genre warhorses like ”Crossroads” and ”Walkin’ Blues.” Some of the choices are too predictable, but Jack White will be lucky to sound this good at 66.
