What should the 'Idol' wannabes sing tonight?

Tonight’s American Idol theme is ”Songs of the 21st Century,” and coming off last week’s stellar episode, I’ve got my fingers crossed for a second consecutive week of great performances. Of course, that’ll largely depend on the contestants’ song choices, and while you can bet the 10 remaining finalists have already reheased the heck out of their numbers, that shouldn’t stop us from making last-minute suggestions for alternate selections, right? With that in mind, here’s my proposed song list for tonight’s show; feel free to tell me how lame tone deaf brilliant I am, or better yet, post your own. Bucky Covington, are you listening?

Chris Daughtry: Britney Spears’ ”Toxic” (Seriously! Just close your eyes and imagine him rockin’ it out.)
Paris Bennett: Faith Evans’ ”You Gets No Love”
Kellie Pickler: Ashlee Simpson’s ”Pieces of Me”
Ace Young: Toni Braxton’s ”You’re Makin’ Me High”
Taylor Hicks: Lenny Kravitz’s ”Lady”
Katharine McPhee: Robbie Williams’ ”Angels”
Lisa Tucker: No Doubt’s ”Ex-Girlfriend” (She keeps saying she’s a rocker, yo!)
Elliott Yamin: Mary J. Blige’s ”No More Drama”
Bucky Covington: The Killers’ ”Somebody Told Me”
Mandisa: Coldplay’s ”The Scientist”
