Coming soon to your iPod: the Beatles?

It seemed paradoxical that the Beatles’ company, Apple Corps, would sue Apple Computer for allegedly violating an agreement by using the Apple name and logo to sell music via iTunes. After all, how did that hurt the Beatles, who’ve been one of the last major holdouts from selling their music via download? Now, it turns out that the Beatles do plan to sell their songs online. Apple Corps chief Neil Aspinall testified in the current trial that he’s currently digitally remastering the entire catalog and will make it available in its entirety when he’s finished. An Apple Corps spokesperson tells Reuters there’s ”no firm date” when that might occur, but still, it’s good news for fans. Of course, when the Beatles finally do post their tracks online, they’ll probably do it at Rhapsody.
