We gave it an A
Home to the Doors, folk thrush Judy Collins, soft-rockers Bread, and proto-punk scuzzballs the Stooges, Elektra Records was, in its heyday, a wildly iconoclastic imprint with a striking history of high quality and commercial success. There are plenty of familiar tunes on Forever Changing: The Golden Age of Elektra Records – 1963-1973, but the unearthed treasures from long-forgotten bands like Leviathan (sludgy British rockers) and Crabby Appleton (L.A. power-pop act) make it well worth the $69 retail price.
